What’s the difference between Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a cabling? Cat5e supports up to 1 Gbps, Cat6 supports up to 10 Gbps (at short distances), and Cat6a supports 10 Gbps at full 100m distances. We recommend Cat6 as the minimum for new installations.
